Practicing our presentations
We are spening time in class practicing our presentations. The students are finding this useful as they are practicing speaking as the person they have learned all about for the last few months. They are also experiencing what it is like to speak with butterflies, where they need to work on adding more details, answering unknown questions, listening respectfully and feeling confident.

We are MOTIVATED
This week, the student's are finishing up their President reports and diving right into The Biography Project!
Julian and Caroline completed their report on Ulysses S. Grant. They were excited to find his face on dollar bills, which we are studying in math.
Above the students are working on marking important parts in their chosen biography book. If you are able to access this link, you will see two students sharing aloud the important parts they marked.

President Report
Our class was so excited to start the President report in preparation for The Biography Project. At the completion of the introduction, a few students were asking repeatively if we could do more research today! I introduced the project by displaying books written about George Washington to Barack Obama. The students explored the books on their own and then were partnered up with another classmate. Together, they chose the President whom they are going to study over the next few weeks. We can't wait to get started again!
